With the advent of an active and talented African design industry, the “traditional” model of Western designers coming in to work on projects across Africa is becoming less and less relevant – for the better! How, then, do Western designers and design firms navigate their changing role, and what can we do to appropriately and effectively play this role? In this talk, Priyanka Pathak will reflect on the changes in her own journey working in the African continent over the years, and share insights and suggestions for others exploring the same questions.
